The US Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified homes are recognized as a structure that is a cost-efficient energy saving green building. At the Make It Right project in New Orleans lower 9th ward, John Sader, Construction Director, and his team developed a formula for building affordable LEED platinum homes. A major part of the formula in building these Affordable LEED Platinum homes is the small duct high velocity (SDHV) Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning system, manufactured by Unico, Inc., and its ability to integrate with the advanced framing approach that was utilized in these homes.
